THE MEDICIN WHEEL & THE FOUR ELEMENTS
The world is sound. The universe is sound.
In 1964, Penzias and Wilson discovered the cosmic microwave background radiation with the Holmdel Horn Antenna — the still-working echo of the Big Bang that continues to travel through expanding space. Planets, black holes and the Earth itself produce vibrations. Audible and inaudible frequencies move, act and shape. Until proven otherwise, we are a conglomerate of these vibrations — in what we do, think, speak and take in. When the order is disturbed, the right frequencies can restore structure.
The four elements also vibrate in relation to one another. Air, fire, water and earth describe different qualities of movement, density and resonance. That is why I like to include the elements in all offerings and lectures. They form the frame in which soundspaces, mental training and work with the body belong together.
The Medicine Wheel makes this connection visible. It describes the wholeness of a life — from childhood through youth to mature adulthood and older age — and the body in its natural process of maturation. Especially in the third and fourth stages of life it becomes clear how closely these vibrations are linked to the body and its development. Here it shows that the body works not against its development, but with it.
Humans are nature. We arise from the same elements that shape the world around us. For a long time people lived in an intuitive exchange with this information. Nourishment, healing and orientation happened in constant feedback with the environment. This was a connected and self-responsible way of acting.
Today, through medicine, biology, physics and chemistry, we can describe and optimise the elements of life down to molecular and atomic structures. This does not remove us from nature by even a centimetre. It expands our understanding and makes more precise what could previously only be sensed.
Neuroplasticity adds another layer. We can relearn, reprogramme and reorient. Such processes take time — often up to ninety days, a quarter of a year. Here, too, the four appears again. The structure of the wheel shows up in the small: in the cycles of change, in the phases of a life and in the elements of which we are made.
Everything is connected. Those who understand and practically use this connection move through life healthier and longer. The elements and the Medicine Wheel are, for me, the frame that holds this overview — in every offering and in every lecture.
The four elements also vibrate in relation to one another. That is why I include them in all offerings and lectures. They form the frame in which soundspaces, mental training and work with the body belong together.
